Our historic Georgian and Victorian Gothic property provide an exceptional location for , corporate events, meetings, private dining experiences outdoor events and filming.
The ground floor of the main house provides remarkable spaces where you will discover lavish Pugin interiors offering excellent opportunities for both small and large occasions alike.
Set within Victorian landscaped gardens and stunning parkland with incredible views over the Deerness Valley and towards Durham City, Ushaw is one of Durham’s finest locations.
Whatever events you are planning, Ushaw provides a wonderful location and excellent service.
The Exhibition Hall seats 256 people making it our largest conference room at Ushaw. It offers the height of modern projection technology, paired with intriguing historic architecture. the perfect venue for those conferences with presentations and lectures.
The Parlour, the private dining area at Ushaw, boasts an interior designed by Edward Pugin in 1863, and includes the original furniture and extendable table of the College. Suitable for seating up to 50 people, this beautiful room can be used for private dinners, and has been used for presentations in a more casual setting.
The Refectory is our largest function room, housing Ushaw's cafe, and can accommodate up to 160 guests. The perfect location for a conference, celebration or reception, nestled in the heart of a picturesque site.
The Chapels at Ushaw are some of the most stunning in the country, with St Cuthbert's Chapel accommodating 300 seated guests, offering the perfect location for a concert or larger lecture style conference. Or for those events with fewer delegates, our smaller Chapel, St Joseph's, can house 60 people for those events that require that bit more intimacy.
We also have a selection of smaller meeting rooms capable of accommodating from 6 to 40 guests in a variety of styles and formats. Full audio visual equipment is available in all of our meeting rooms.
