Bed & Breakfast

Whether you’re looking for a single night’s accommodation or longer, staying over after a conference, or after a social occasion or concert, Ushaw offers a unique experience for all. Situated in our historic buildings dating back 250 years, our rooms are simple, comfortable and quiet - perfect for relaxation.

Though Ushaw is nestled in the stunning North-East countryside, we are still only 15 minutes away from the city of Durham, which offers all of the amenities of a small city.

Our rooms come in single, twin, or triple rooms - with single beds only. All of our rooms are en-suite with showers (some with wheelchair accessible showers). There is lift access to all rooms, though some of our rooms are further from the entrance than others, and guests should specify at the time of booking if they require a closer room.

All bathrooms have clean towels and complimentary shampoo and shower gel. Guests who are staying for several days may wish to bring their own toiletries. Our rooms do not have hair dryers.

All rooms include tea and coffee making facilities.

There are no televisions on site, but we do have wifi throughout the main building and accommodation areas.

In order to keep our prices as competitive as possible, rooms will NOT be serviced daily during your stay.

Bookings should be made over the phone or via email. Payment can be made by cheque or via our secure email payment system. Room bookings will not be considered ‘confirmed’ until payment is made.

Prices are for bed & breakfast, per room per night.

"The peace and quiet was sublime. Fab setting and of course we had fab weather. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Refectory food excellent. We made use daily of the no 52 bus and look forward to a return visit."

"Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere made my overnight stay (I was attending a Pugin Society day school in the college) an enjoyable experience. The scenic location and wonderful architecture should appeal to anyone staying in the area, not just Pugin enthusiasts!"

"It was a wonderful stay. The staff, including security, could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend Ushaw."
