Ourdoor Story Writing Trail

This week's family trail in the gardens has been developed to coincide with World Book Day on 4th March.

From Monday 1st March, there will be cards in the trees surrounding the Outdoor Classroom at ushaw. These cards will give children the 'ingredients' they need to create their own story.  Either to write down, or tell verbally in the storytelling chair.  Hopefully, some of you will share your stories with us too!

Musical Mamas

Thanks to the funding we have received from the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage, we are starting a new singing group for new mothers, local to Ushaw, led by professional musician Bethany Elen Coyle.

In this friendly, informal singing group, you will meet other new parents and their babies, have a chance to laugh, relax and sing your worries away, all from the warmth and safety of your own home. Make time for you, foster a love of music in your little one, and make friends in the same stage of life.

The Culture Recovery Fund is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England, using funds provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Friday Crafternoons

This friendly and informal workshop will be a hosted by our Community Liaison Officer and will be a platform to chat with fellow crafters, discuss ideas as well as sharing your creativity. Regardless of your skill level and area of interest everyone is welcome!

The workshops will take place at 2pm-3:30pm on Friday afternoons, and will be held virtually on Zoom.
