Family Events & Activities

To celebrate the upcoming Olympic Games, we're hosting our very own Ushaw Olympics which we want you to come and try out! 

We'll be hosting taster sessions for:

  • Taekwondo on Thursday 29th July (book online)

  • Handball - on Sunday 1st August (book online)

  • Children's Archery - on Wednesday 4th August (book online)

  • Climbing - on Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th August
    (no booking required, drop-in)

  • Fencing on Sunday 8th August (book online)

Alongside our taster sessions, we also have an flag-themed trail, outdoor craft table with Daruma Dolls, Olympic Flag Cyanotypes, Origami and more + enjoy some Olympic Activities such as Table Tennis and Badminton on The Bounds Field.

No booking is required for our Flag Trail, Craft Table and Olympic  Activities, included with admission, free for Annual Pass holders.

During July and August, join us for crafternoons; an informal community group for all kinds of crafters to come together to enjoy their crafts and each other’s company, gaining inspiration and support from like minded individuals. 

 

Entry to Ushaw is included for Ushaw Annual Pass holders - proof of purchase will be required. Without an Annual Pass admission will apply for this event.

Join us for a summer holiday edition of our Forest Bunnies sessions, in the beautiful grounds at Ushaw. 

Forest School is a child-led, exploratory and holistic learning experience in a natural woodland. 

Summer sessions are open to children aged 2-7 years with an accompanying adult.

Thursdays in August (5th/ 12th/19th/26th)

Alongside our four week block booking, we're also offering individual session bookings for those who are Annual Pass holders.

Back into Nature host our brand new 'Stay and Play' outdoors days at Ushaw during the summer. You can expect to enjoy a fun play based activity for children aged 0-7 years taking place in our beautiful gardens.

Each week there will be different themed activities to discover in this relaxed, outdoor playgroup where children will be encouraged to explore the natural environment and follow their own interests.

Join Alice and her friends in an exciting quest to the Madhatter's tea party, whilst dodging the meanie Queenie of Hearts!

This interactive outside performance includes toe tapping songs, a fun interactive treasure hunt led by our Wonderland characters, and juice, tea, coffee, and delicious cakes.
