Our Main House, Chapels and Exhibitions are currently open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1pm-4pm - we operating a one-way visitor route, pre-bookable timeslots, and a restriction on numbers in the buildings at one time.

SatNav Users: As we are such an old establishment, sometimes SatNav systems get a bit confused and send visitors to the wrong entrance. For the best results, please use DH7 7DW, which will bring you in the correct way.
From the North: Leave the A1(M) at junction 63, Chester-Le-Street. Continue south on the A167 until you reach Crossgate Moor on the outskirts of Durham. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights just past the pedestrian footbridge. Ushaw is signposted from here.
From the South: Leave the A1(M) at junction 59, north of Darlington, and continue north on the A167 (for approximately 14 miles) to the traffic lights at Neville's Cross on the outskirts of Durham City. Continue to the third set of traffic lights by Sainsbury's Local and turn left (Ushaw College is signposted here, 2 1/2 miles).
By Train: Ushaw is approx 10 mins in a taxi from Durham Station.
Public Transport: Scarlett Band bus service 52, is direct from Durham Bus Station to Ushaw main driveway.
Please note that while photography is allowed inside the buildings, tripods and monopods are not. With regards to exhibitions in the gallery, please ask before taking any photographs. The use of drones over Ushaw grounds is prohibited.
Dogs are NOT allowed in the buildings, with the exception of assistance dogs.
Smoking is NOT allowed in any of the buildings.
