Join the GladRags Project
Ushaw: Historic House, Chapels & Gardens is delighted to announce a creative community project to reinforce our togetherness during this challenging time. In collaboration with artist Diana Burch and Haslemere Museum we will coordinate our local community's contribution to The GladRags Project.
The project is simple and one that any of us can safely take part in from home. Devised by Diana Burch and Haslemere Museum we want you to help us create a community patchwork that shows our community's resilience and creativity. The patchwork will reflect all of the things that make our community glad during the coronavirus pandemic. Very often these are small things; a spring flower, a pattern, a loved one or pet. The sky's the limit!
All crafts are welcome and all participants from those with craft skills to complete beginners. Please create a 15cm square (with a bit of extra border if possible) that we can stitch together.
Forward photographs of your work to firstname.lastname@example.org (please title the post GladRags). We will post photos of works social media platforms. When lockdown is over, we will gather all the squares together at Ushaw to make our own historical document for future generations.
